Services we provide
The upper gastrointestinal tract includes the oesophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach), the stomach, and the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine).
Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery is the surgery of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary system (the organs and ducts that make and store bile which is a fluid made by the liver that helps digest fat).
UGI and HPB surgery includes treatment of:
Upper gastrointestinal tract
- Stomach (gastric) cancer
- Oesophageal cancer
- Neuroendocrine/carcinoid tumours
- Stromal (smooth muscle) tumours
- Duodenal cancer.
Hepatopancreatobiliary
- Primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma)
- Secondary (metastatic) liver tumours
- Benign liver tumours and cysts
- Neuroendocrine/carcinoid tumours
- Bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma)
- Gallbladder cancer
- Benign pancreatic tumours and cysts
- Neuroendocrine/carcinoid tumours
- Pancreatic cancer.
