Physiotherapy services aims to help you improve your functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, assessment, diagnosis and physical interventions.
Outpatient services
Conditions we can help with and services we provide include:
- general musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions
- pain management and acupuncture
- hand therapy
- vestibular conditions (balance problems)
- women’s health and continence (male and female)
- lymphoedema and chronic oedemas
- ultraviolet light treatment of skin conditions
- respiratory and neurological conditions
- hydrotherapy.
Community services
- self management and education
- mobility assessments and walking aids
- hospital discharge follow up
- respiratory conditions
- long term management of neurological conditions and disabilities
- knee replacement post operative classes
- multiple condition rehabilitation classes.
Children's services
We have visiting neurodevelopmental therapists for children with disabilities.
Referral information
You can be referred to physiotherapy services in South Canterbury by your specialist doctor, general practitioner, nurse practitioner or lead maternity carer via the electronic request management system (ERMS) or by letter, fax or email.
You may also refer yourself if you have mobility problems.
