Services we provide

Stop Smoking Services are committed to promoting a smoke-free environment and supporting people who do smoke to improve their health.

We provide behavioural support throughout your quitting journey. Support can be:

  • face to face
  • by text (SMS)
  • by phone
  • by email. 

We can advise you on the different options for subsidised and non-subsidised medicines for stopping smoking. 

We also offer:

  • group-based support in Timaru or as otherwise requested, for example in workplaces
  • the Pregnant Mama—Stop Smoking Incentive Programme, which supports pregnant women and their whānau (family) to become and stay smoke free.

Referral information

You can be referred to Stop Smoking Services in South Canterbury by any healthcare provider and by community services. You can also refer yourself.
