Services we provide
The Paediatric service cares for pēpi and tamariki up to 15 years old. Our focus is to promote being healthy in mond, body and spirit for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau. Services include:
- specialist inpatient services
- allergy and endocrine testing
- home visiting service
- child development service
- paediatric outpatient clinics at Villa 7
- specialist nursing services and visiting consultants.
The service works in partnership with Wellington Hospital and Starship Hospital, enabling care to be provided closer to home.
Visiting tamariki in care
Parents and carers are welcome to stay in hospital with their tamaiti 24 hours a day, but only 1 parent or carer may stay overnight.
We know it is important for your tamaiti to see friends and whānau while in hospital. We ask that you limit the number of visitors to your child’s room and keep noise levels down — to consider the needs of other patients.
Children under the age of 16 cannot supervise or provide care to younger tamariki while they are in the hospital.
Other services are available to you.

- A social worker is available on request to provide information on community and financial support.
