NZNO nurses’ strikes planned for 2 and 4 September 2025
Nurses at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike from 7am to 11pm on both Tuesday 2 September and Thursday 4 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only.
GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strikes and will continue to operate as normal.
The Child Healthy Housing team provides services under the Healthy Housing Initiative.
The aim of the Healthy Homes Initiative is to increase the number of tamariki and their whānau living in warm, dry, and healthy homes to enhance their health and wellbeing and reduce the number of housing-related hospitalisations.
Our Child Healthy Housing team are trained Safekids Aotearoa home safety assessors. Through our relationship with Safekids we are able to provide home safety devices for whānau, such as safety gates, outlet plug covers and fireguards.

EnergyMate partner
We have formed a wonderful relationship with our local EnergyMate service run through Ngāti Pahauwera. During our assessment we invite whānau to use this service to look at their energy consumption and ways to make their power and dollar go further. Most whānau are delighted to be referred to EnergyMate and recieve lots of helpful advice and 4 LED light bulbs.
