Services we provide

We care for people who need urgent care and those who have illnesses that need long-term care.

Many kidney disorders can be treated with medications. If kidney function starts to fail and the condition becomes severe, other care may be required such as:

  • dialysis
  • kidney transplantation
  • supportive care.

We provide care to patients admitted to hospital, outpatient services and at-home care.

Our nurses also provide ongoing support and education to patients after they are discharged from hospital.

Dialysis

The community dialysis unit provides training and support for people at home managing their own peritoneal dialysis or haemodialysis. We provide accommodation for people coming from Wairarapa and Nelson Marlborough.

Patients not on home dialysis receive dialysis treatment at either Wellington Regional Hospital or Kenepuru Community Hospital.
