Services we provide

We provide services to inpatients, outpatients and people in the community. We support people of all ages whose ability to carry out everyday activities has been affected by illness, injury or disability. 

Our therapists will help you get back to your daily activities by using purposeful activities, interventions or equipment. These services include:

  • manual handling advice for your carers and whānau for actions such as hoisting and transfer techniques
  • functional assessments of your everyday activities such as showering and dressing
  • cognitive assessments (standardised) to understand your current cognitive function and any potential safety implications
  • memory retraining and education
  • non-ACC return to work or school assessments
  • equipment assessments for short or long-term needs
  • home safety assessments
  • wheelchair assessments, training and prescription
  • community environmental assessments — for access issues
  • pre-elective surgery advice on recovery and post-operative care
  • mental health support (talking therapies and cognitive behavioural therapy).
