Services we provide

We work with families to help identify lifestyle habits that they can change to become healthier.

We support families to identify and set goals to make small steady healthy changes that can be maintained for a lifetime.

  • Bodywise groups are made up of between 4 to 8 families.
  • Children are grouped together with other children of a similar age.
  • Groups are fun and interactive with lots of activity and learning for the whole family.
  • About 4 groups are run each year and follow the school term calendar.

There are monthly follow-up appointments for 6 months with the team.

Group programme is based in the community.

Our team includes:

  • activity coordinator
  • medical officer
  • psychologist
  • dietitian.

Group sessions weekly for 10 weeks based in Hamilton. Then monthly follow-up for 6 months. The group sessions involve:

  • fun activity sessions
  • skills building and information sessions.

Topics covered include:

  • healthy eating to match your budget
  • healthy snacks
  • problem solving and goal setting for families
  • lunch box options
