Senior doctors and dentists at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike for 48 hours on Tuesday 23 September and Wednesday 24 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only. GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strike and will continue to operate as normal.

Services we provide
Tests are important to identify hearing problems and vision problems. They are part of the national vision hearing screening programme which schedules tests for all tamariki at specific ages between 4 and 11.
Tests include:
- audiometry (hearing)
- tympanometry (middle ear function test)
- vision (distance visual acuity).
The service refers tamariki with identified needs to appropriate follow up services.
Children's hearing and vision services are provided by Community and Southern Rural Health.
