Visiting hours

Our visiting hours are 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm every day.

Maternity ward visitors can come from 10am to 8pm each day, or if you are family, from 7am to 10pm.

Palliative care visitors can come any time.

There is visitor and staff parking across the road from the hospital, on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Oak Grove.

Ashburton Hospital cafe

The cafe has:

  • hot meals
  • savoury items
  • sandwiches
  • scones
  • muffins
  • cakes
  • slices
  • a selection of non-alcoholic drinks
  • barista coffee.

It is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 3:30pm.


Patient and visitor information

You should not come to our facilities as a visitor or support person if you are unwell. We encourage you to wear a surgical or medical mask when visiting and ask that you clean your hands with the alcohol-based hand gel we provide.

Patients can have more than one visitor except in some situations, for example rooms with more than one patient where it can cause overcrowding.
