Full-time rural nurse specialists provide everyday care for the Karamea community and hold GP clinics with visiting doctors every week.

After hours rural primary care service

Ka Ora Telecare provides free health advice and treatment on weeknights (5pm to 8am) and 24 hours a day on weekends and public holidays.

The Ka Ora team will refer you to the in-person service available in your area if you need it.

Minor surgery services

  • Skin cancer surgery, moles and other skin lesions.
  • Removal of skin tags.
  • Wedge excision of ingrown toenails.
  • Contraception insertion or removal.

  • Plastering of fractures.
  • Ear suctioning.
