Screening Support Services in Aotearoa New Zealand

Screening Support Services can help people who experience barriers to accessing breast and cervical screening, assessment and treatment services. If you are eligible, you can be referred, or directly request help.

Screening Support Service providers

Some Screening Support Service providers have mobile teams who make community visits and home visits, while others are based in clinics around the motu.

The teams are a mixture of clinical and non-clinical staff, inclusive of kaiāwhina and kaimahi (support staff).

Eligibility for cervical screening support

You are eligible for cervical screening support if you are aged:

25 to 69 and are Māori or Pacific
30 to 69, have never had a cervical screen, or have not had a cervical screen in the last 5 years.

Eligibility for breast screening support

You are eligible for breast screening if you are aged:

45 to 69 and are Māori or Pacific
between 45 to 69, have never been screened, or have not had a screen in the last 5 years.
