Services we provide
The intensive care unit (ICU) provides specialist care to adults and children who have severe or life-threatening medical problems. This includes people who have suffered severe trauma or had high-risk surgery.
Visitor information
- Visitor hours: 9:30am to 2:30pm and 3:30pm to 7pm.
- Visiting outside of these times is only by arrangement.
- We ask that no more than 2 people visit at a time.
- Visitors must be over 16.
- If you are unwell, do not visit for the safety of our patients and staff.
ICU can be a stressful environment for patients and their whānau. We encourage you to take some time to relax in our whānau waiting area. You are welcome to use the coffee and tea facilities. We are here to help — talk to us about anything that is worrying you. It is normal to have questions, and our staff are happy to talk with you.
