Services we provide
Cardiology services provide diagnostic and interventional cardiology. This means we investigate if you have a heart condition and deal specifically with the catheter-based treatment of structural heart diseases. Heart conditions can include:
- cardiac arrhythmias
- cardiovascular disease
- heart failure
- valve disease.
Our service incorporates a general ward and a coronary care unit. A broad range of non-invasive diagnostic testing is available for outpatients and inpatients, such as:
- blood tests
- cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram)
- coronary angiogram
- electrocardiogram (ECG)
- exercise (ECG).
Outpatient clinics are delivered at Dunedin and Southland hospitals.
Dunstan Hospital also provides cardiology services in Clyde.
