Services we provide

Psychiatric services for adults with an intellectual disability (PSAID) community team

PSAID community team provides comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment, including case management when needed.

Psychiatric services for adults with an intellectual disability (PSAID) inpatient unit

PSAID Inpatient Unit provides treatment of mental health disorders for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Whaikaha

Whaikaha provides inpatient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for people with intellectual disabilities and significantly challenging behaviour.

Intellectual disability liaison team (IDLT)

The IDLT service is for people with an intellectual disability who have been charged with an offence and are subject to a compulsory care order from the courts.


Referral information

Referrals to PSAID community team are through your primary healthcare provider.

Referrals to PSAID inpatient services are internally from the community or crisis intervention teams.
