Addiction services

The community alcohol and drug service at Hillmorton Hospital includes the Christchurch opioid recovery service.

Adult community mental health services

The adult community mental health service provides outpatient assessment, treatment and support services to adults, including urgent and acute care and specialist services.

Anxiety disorders service

The anxiety disorders service is a community-based team that provides treatment for people with anxiety disorders.

Clozapine clinic

The clozapine clinic provides specialist support to adults who are taking clozapine.

Eating disorders service

The South Island eating disorders service (SIEDS) is a specialist mental health service. We provide treatment and support to people experiencing an eating disorder.

Forensic mental health service

The regional forensic mental health service provides specialist care for people who have seriously offended, or are assessed as high risk for serious offending, as a result of mental illness.

Hereford Centre

The Hereford Centre provides an assertive outreach service to adults with mental health illnesses.

Kennedy Unit

Kennedy is a 6 bed unit providing specialist inpatient care to people in the South Island who require a medical detoxification from alcohol or other drug use.

Perinatal mental health service

The South Island perinatal mental health service provides treatment to mothers and primary caregivers who have been referred by their healthcare provider or other mental health service.

We provide a range of mental health services for people with an intellectual disability in Canterbury.

Te Awakura inpatient service

Te Awakura is a facility for adults with acute mental illness who require 24 hour nursing care.

Totara House psychosis service

Totara House is a specialist multidisciplinary service for young people (18 to 28 years) who are experiencing their first episode of a mental illness.

Wāhi Oranga inpatient service

An inpatient mental health rehabilitation unit. It offers a recovery-based programme that lets people with mental health issues live fulfilling lives in the community.

Wahi Tautoko inpatient mental health — Canterbury

Wahi Tautoko is an inpatient mental health unit for extended treatment and intervention.

Whāngai Aroha inpatient service

A specialist inpatient service for maternal mental health or eating disorders at Hillmorton Hospital.
