Senior doctors and dentists at Health NZ public hospitals and health services plan to strike for 48 hours on Tuesday 23 September and Wednesday 24 September. Emergency departments will be open for emergencies only. GPs, after-hours and urgent care clinics, and other community health providers are not affected by the strike and will continue to operate as normal.

About Support Net
Services we provide
We support people with a disability to live as independently as possible. We have 3 main roles:
- to facilitate needs assessment
- service planning and coordination
- resource allocation within a defined budget.
Needs assessment and service coordination services (NASC)
We provide NASC for 2 funding organisations:
- The Ministry of Health (for people under 65 years in age)
- Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty (for people of all ages with long-term chronic or age-related health needs).
Needs assessment is the first step to getting government-funded support services such as:
- personal support
- meals
- household management
- carer support
- day programmes
the support provided by rest homes and private hospitals.
Referral information
You can refer yourself or get another person to refer you. Anyone can be referred to our service.
We will contact you to arrange a suitable time for an assessment. You can bring a support person to your assessment.
